インド・ベンガル地方から届いたアンティークのノクシカタです。こちらは赤ちゃんの誕生を祝うために作られたベビーキルト。リサイクル布で作られる一般的なカンタキルトとは異なり、特別なタイミングの贈りものとして制作されるノクシカタには、身の回りの道具や村の風景、幾何学模様など、母から娘へと受け継がれてきた伝統的なデザインが刺繍されています。白地部分はさざ波のような細かな刺し子で埋め尽くされ、絵画のような魅力を感じさせる特別感のある作品に仕上がっています。本品は他のカンタキルトに比べ古い時代のモノです。ダメージもありますが、動物モチーフの作品は年々希少になり、価値が高まっています。コレクションピースとしてぜひおすすめしたい一枚です。
